Getting to Know Me: A Reflection on Background, Ambitions, and Online Communication

Hello fellow readers! Today, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share a bit about my background, ambitions, and interests in online communication. Let's dive in. 

I hail from the picturesque state of Washington, known for its lush greenery, towering mountains, and breathtaking scenery. Currently, I am still residing in this beautiful state. 

I am currently pursuing a degree in Natural Resources with a double degree in Sustainability. This field deeply resonates with my passion for environmental conservation and sustainable practices. With my degree, I aspire to make a meaningful impact in the field of environmental sustainability. My career ambitions revolve around working towards creating a more sustainable futures, whether through policy advocacy, conservation efforts, or community education initiatives. 

In my free time, you'll often find me immersed in my garden, tending to my plants and nurturing green spaces. Gardening brings me so my joy and satisfaction, allowing me to connect with nature on a deeper level. 

One intriguing aspect of my recent experiences is that I had the opportunity to embark on a service-learning trip to Puerto Rico over spring break. Venturing beyond the confines of my usual surroundings, I immersed myself in the rich culture and vibrant landscapes of this beautiful island. Engaging in meaningful service projects while exploring the local community allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and triumphs faced by the people of Puerto Rico. It was a transformative journey that not only broaden my horizons but also instilled in me a profound sense of empathy and appreciation or the resilience of the human spirit.



 

In this term, I am particularly interested in exploring the dynamics of online communication, especially in the context of sustainability and environmental activism. I primarily utilize communication channels such as Twitter and email for professional networking, staying updated on industry news, and sharing insights and resources. 

I have taken communication classes in the past, including courses on interpersonal communication. This course provided me with valuable insights into effective communication strategies, enhancing my ability to communicate effectively in various contexts. 

One of my goals for this term is to deepen my understanding of online communication strategies and their application in the field of sustainability. Additionally, I aim to enhance my digital storytelling skills as well.
